Murtha headlining New Hampshire event,
July 23rd
Rep. Jack Murtha in his continued quest to become Majority Leader
after the 2006 election will headline an event in New Hampshire this
July 23rd. The New Hampshire Democrat congressional candidates
offered praise and questions of Murtha's "cut n run" stance according
to the New Hampshire
Union Leader.
Higher aspirations prompted Murtha's premature announcement last
February that he would seek the position of Speaker of the House – a
move backburnered by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi for being
premature.

New Hampshire's Portsmouth Herald spells out the details of the

HAMPTON FALLS -- U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., will be the featured
speaker at the annual summer picnic sponsored by the Hampton
Democratic Committee. The picnic will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on
Sunday, July 23 in Hampton Falls at the home of David and Elaine
Ahearn....
...Other
prominent Democrats expected to attend the picnic include Executive
Council candidates Bev Hollingworth and Bob Bruce; state Sens. Martha
Fuller Clark and Maggie Hassan; Assistant House Democratic Leader
Terie Norelli; as well as other state representative candidates and
office holders from the region.
